AUTHOR GUIDELINE

Manuscript Preparation

Authors are required to prepare manuscripts in accordance with the SIVILTEK template and the following formatting requirements:

  • Paper Size: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm)
  • Layout: Single column, justified alignment
  • Line Spacing: Single spacing
  • Font: Book Antiqua
  • Main Text: Book Antiqua, 11 pt
  • Article Length: 3,000–4,000 words, including references, tables, and figures
  • Title: Book Antiqua, 14 pt, bold, Capitalize Each Word, maximum 14 words
  • Author Names: Book Antiqua, 10 pt, bold, centered, written without academic titles
  • Affiliations: Book Antiqua, 9 pt
  • Corresponding Author Email: Book Antiqua, 9 pt
  • Abstract Heading: Book Antiqua, 11 pt, bold
  • Section Headings: Book Antiqua, 12 pt, bold, uppercase
  • References: Book Antiqua, 11 pt

Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word and strictly follow the journal template.

Manuscript Structure

Title

The title should clearly reflect the content of the manuscript and should not exceed 14 words. It must be concise, informative, and typed in Book Antiqua 14 pt bold using Capitalize Each Word format.

Author Information

Authors' names should be written in full without academic degrees or titles. Affiliations and e-mail addresses must be provided. The corresponding author should be clearly identified.

Abstract

The abstract must be written in English in a single paragraph consisting of 200–250 words. It should briefly describe:

  • Background or theoretical basis;
  • Research objectives;
  • Research methods;
  • Analytical techniques;
  • Major findings;
  • Research novelty.

The abstract should not contain references, equations, abbreviations, footnotes, questions, or conjectures.

Keywords

Authors should provide a maximum of five keywords, separated by commas.

INTRODUCTION

The Introduction section should contain:

  • Research background;
  • Problem statement;
  • Research urgency;
  • Literature review;
  • Research gap;
  • Objectives of the study;
  • Hypothesis development (if applicable).

The Introduction is expected to be approximately 800–1,000 words.

METHOD

The Method section should explain:

  • Research approach;
  • Scope or object of study;
  • Operational definitions of variables;
  • Research location;
  • Population and sample/informants;
  • Materials and equipment used;
  • Data collection procedures;
  • Data analysis techniques.

The Method section is expected to be approximately 500 words.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

The Results and Discussion sections should be presented separately.

Results

Results should be presented systematically and comprehensively according to the objectives of the study. Tables, figures, graphs, and charts may be included where necessary.

Discussion

The discussion should interpret findings critically and compare them with previous studies, relevant theories, and supporting references.

The combined Results and Discussion section is expected to be approximately 1,000–1,500 words.

CONCLUSION

The Conclusion should summarize the principal findings of the study and answer the research questions or objectives. It should not merely repeat statements from the abstract.

The recommended length is approximately 350 words.

REFERENCES

References should comply with the APA 7th Edition citation style.

Requirements:

  • At least 80% of references must originate from publications issued within the last five years.
  • Every citation appearing in the manuscript must be listed in the References section.
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, RefWorks, or similar applications.

Tables

Tables should be editable and not inserted as images.

Requirements:

  • Tables must be numbered consecutively.
  • Table titles should be placed above the table.
  • Table titles should use Book Antiqua 11 pt bold.
  • Sources should be indicated below the table.
  • All tables must be cited in the manuscript text.

Figures

Figures, graphs, charts, and photographs should be clear and of high quality.

Requirements:

  • Figures should be numbered sequentially.
  • Figure captions should be placed below the figure.
  • All figures must be cited within the manuscript text.

Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English.

Authors are encouraged to conduct language editing prior to submission.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening before entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels may be rejected or returned to authors for revision.

Peer Review Process

Jurnal Teknik Sipil (SIVILTEK) implements a double-blind peer review process.

The review stages include:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening;
  2. Assignment to Reviewers;
  3. Peer Review Evaluation;
  4. Author Revision;
  5. Final Editorial Decision;
  6. Copyediting;
  7. Layout Editing and Proofreading;
  8. DOI Registration and Online Publication.

Declaration of Submission

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original.
  • The manuscript has not been published elsewhere.
  • The manuscript is not under review by another journal.
  • All authors approve the submission.
  • The manuscript complies with publication ethics standards.

Generative AI Declaration

Authors using generative artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar systems must disclose their use transparently.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors, and authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content.

Copyright and Open Access

Authors retain copyright while granting Jurnal Teknik Sipil (SIVILTEK) the right of first publication.

All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, allowing users to share, adapt, and reuse the published materials provided appropriate attribution is given to the original authors and the journal.
