Journal of Community-Based Development and Empowerment (J-CoDE) is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality scholarly works on community service, participatory action, and empowerment programs that contribute to sustainable development. The journal aims to become a platform for academics, practitioners, and policymakers to disseminate innovative practices and research findings that transform communities through inclusive engagement.

The journal prioritizes evidence-based studies that integrate academic knowledge with practical interventions to transform communities through inclusive engagement, while remaining open to comparative and international perspectives.

Article Types

Research (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods), community-based case studies, participatory action research reports, literature reviews, program evaluations, methodological papers, and systematic reviews.


Out of Scope

Manuscripts that are purely opinion without methodology or documented practice; theoretical discussions without community-based application; private business or commercial projects without relevance to community empowerment.

Methodology & Open Science

J-CoDE encourages participatory, transparent, and impact-oriented methodologies. Community-based research, participatory action research (PAR), and interdisciplinary approaches are highly welcomed.
