AUTHOR GUIDELINE
Manuscript Preparation
Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi (TechEdu) template and the following formatting requirements:
- Paper Size: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm)
- Layout: Single column with justified alignment
- Line Spacing: Single spacing
- Font: Book Antiqua
- Main Text: Book Antiqua, 11 pt
- Article Length: 3,000–5,000 words, including references, tables, and figures
- Title: Book Antiqua, 14 pt, bold, Capitalize Each Word, maximum 14 words
- Author Names: Book Antiqua, 10 pt, bold, centered, written without academic titles
- Affiliations: Book Antiqua, 9 pt
- Corresponding Author Email: Book Antiqua, 9 pt
- Abstract Heading: Book Antiqua, 11 pt, bold
- Section Headings: Book Antiqua, 12 pt, bold, uppercase
- References: Book Antiqua, 11 pt
Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word and strictly follow the official journal template.
Manuscript Structure
Title
The manuscript title should clearly represent the content of the study and should not exceed 14 words. It must be concise, informative, and reflect the novelty or primary contribution of the research.
Author Information
Authors should provide their full names without academic degrees or professional titles.
Each manuscript must include:
- Full institutional affiliation
- Country
- ORCID ID (recommended)
- E-mail address
- Identification of the corresponding author
Abstract
The abstract must be written in English in a single paragraph consisting of 200–250 words.
The abstract should briefly describe:
- Research background
- Research objectives
- Methods
- Data analysis techniques
- Main findings
- Research implications or novelty
The abstract should not contain citations, equations, tables, figures, abbreviations, footnotes, or undefined acronyms.
Keywords
Provide three to five keywords separated by commas.
Keywords should accurately represent the main topics of the manuscript and should not duplicate words already used in the title.
INTRODUCTION
The Introduction should present:
- Background of the study
- Identification of research problems
- Research significance
- Literature review
- Research gap
- Research objectives
- Hypothesis development (if applicable)
Authors should demonstrate how the study contributes to the advancement of educational technology research.
Recommended length: 800–1,000 words.
METHOD
The Method section should describe the research procedures clearly and sufficiently to allow replication.
The section may include:
- Research design
- Research approach
- Research participants or subjects
- Population and sample (if applicable)
- Learning context
- Research instruments
- Learning media, educational technologies, software, or digital platforms used
- Data collection procedures
- Data analysis techniques
The journal accepts various research methodologies, including:
- Quantitative Research
- Qualitative Research
- Mixed Methods Research
- Research and Development (R&D)
- Experimental Research
- Classroom Action Research
- Design-Based Research
- Case Study
- Survey Research
Recommended length: approximately 500–800 words.
RESULTS
Results should be presented objectively and systematically according to the research objectives.
Results may include:
- Learning outcomes
- System implementation results
- Evaluation of educational technology
- Learning media validation
- Software or application performance
- User experience or usability testing
- Statistical analysis
- Learning analytics
- Classroom implementation findings
Tables, figures, graphs, and illustrations should be used where appropriate.
DISCUSSION
The Discussion should critically interpret the research findings.
Authors are expected to:
- Explain the meaning of the findings
- Compare findings with previous studies
- Relate findings to existing theories
- Highlight research contributions
- Explain practical implications for educational technology
- Discuss research limitations
- Suggest future research directions
The Results and Discussion sections together are recommended to contain approximately 1,500–2,000 words.
CONCLUSION
The Conclusion should summarize the major findings and directly answer the research objectives.
It should emphasize:
- Main contribution
- Educational implications
- Recommendations for practice
- Suggestions for future research
The conclusion should not merely repeat the abstract or discussion.
Recommended length: approximately 250–350 words.
REFERENCES
References must comply with the APA 7th Edition citation style.
Requirements:
- At least 80% of references should originate from publications published within the last five years.
- References should primarily consist of scholarly journal articles.
- Every in-text citation must appear in the reference list.
- Every reference listed must be cited in the manuscript.
Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as:
- Mendeley
- Zotero
- EndNote
- RefWorks
- Other compatible reference managers
Tables
Tables should be editable and should not be inserted as images.
Requirements:
- Number tables consecutively.
- Place table titles above the tables.
- Use Book Antiqua 11 pt bold for table titles.
- Include the data source where applicable.
- Cite every table within the manuscript text.
Figures
Figures include graphs, diagrams, screenshots, flowcharts, photographs, and illustrations.
Requirements:
- Number figures consecutively.
- Place figure captions below each figure.
- Ensure figures are clear and of high resolution.
- All figures must be cited in the manuscript.
Language
Manuscripts may be submitted in English or Bahasa Indonesia.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript has been professionally proofread before submission.
Publication Ethics
All submitted manuscripts must comply with accepted standards of publication ethics.
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original.
- The work has not been published elsewhere.
- The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.
- All listed authors have approved the submission.
- Proper acknowledgment has been given to all sources.
- Any conflicts of interest are disclosed.
Research involving human participants should comply with applicable ethical standards, and informed consent should be obtained whenever necessary.
Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening before entering the peer-review process.
Manuscripts with unacceptable levels of similarity may be rejected or returned for revision.

The Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi (TechEdu) applies a double-blind peer-review process.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Authors may use generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, or similar systems) to improve language, grammar, or readability.
However:
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
- Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and ethical compliance of the submitted manuscript.
- Any substantial use of AI during manuscript preparation should be disclosed in the manuscript.
Data Availability
Authors are encouraged to provide datasets, source code, educational media, or supplementary materials that support the findings of their research whenever possible.
Copyright and Open Access
Authors retain copyright of their published work while granting the Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi (TechEdu) the right of first publication.
All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, allowing others to share, adapt, and reuse the work provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the journal.
