PUBLICATION ETHICS
Jurnal Pendidkan Teknologi (TechEdu) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This publication ethics statement is guided by the principles outlined in the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) Regulation No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications and is based on three fundamental ethical values: neutrality, fairness, and honesty. These principles ensure that all parties involved in the publication process are free from conflicts of interest, respect intellectual contributions, and avoid duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.
Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Management
The journal management is responsible for establishing the journal’s aims and scope, publication frequency, editorial policies, and indexing or accreditation strategies. It is also responsible for appointing qualified editorial board members, maintaining professional relationships among publishers, editors, reviewers, and authors, and ensuring confidentiality throughout the editorial process.
The journal management is responsible for implementing copyright and intellectual property policies, disseminating journal guidelines to authors, preparing ethical standards for editors and reviewers, ensuring timely publication schedules, securing sustainable funding, promoting journal visibility, and complying with legal and administrative requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal. Editorial decisions must be based solely on the scientific merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of manuscripts within the scope of technology education.
Editors must ensure a fair, transparent, and objective peer-review process, maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, and avoid conflicts of interest. They are expected to continuously improve publication quality, facilitate constructive communication between authors and reviewers, issue corrections or retractions when necessary, and support efforts to prevent research misconduct.
Editors must evaluate manuscripts without discrimination and must not allow personal, institutional, or commercial interests to influence editorial decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers play an essential role in assisting editors in making publication decisions and improving the quality of submitted manuscripts. Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and within the designated review period.
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and must not use unpublished information for personal advantage. They are expected to provide constructive feedback, identify relevant missing references, and report any ethical concerns such as plagiarism, duplicate publication, or conflicts of interest.
Reviewers should decline review invitations when there is any actual or potential conflict of interest.
Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for submitting original research that has not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal. They must ensure that all co-authors have significantly contributed to the research and have approved the final manuscript.
Authors must present accurate data and methodologies, acknowledge all sources of funding and references, disclose any potential conflicts of interest, and clearly state research limitations.
Authors are expected to respond professionally and promptly to reviewer comments and editorial decisions. If significant errors are discovered after publication, authors must immediately inform the editor and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions.
By submitting a manuscript to the Jurnal Pendidkan Teknologi (TechEdu), authors declare that their work is original and free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication, and complies with accepted ethical standards in scholarly publishing.
