AUTHOR GUIDELINE
Before preparing and submitting a manuscript, authors are strongly advised to ensure that their work complies with the following guidelines. Authors are not encouraged to withdraw manuscripts that have already entered the publication process (review, copyediting, or layout stages), as substantial revisions may still be made during these stages.
1. Types of Manuscrip
JIKor: Jurnal Ilmu Keolahragaan accepts the following
- Original Research Article
- Review Article
- Conceptual Paper

- Applied Research / Practical Paper
2. Introduction
JIKor: Jurnal Ilmu Keolahragaan is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original research and review articles in the field of sport. The journal aims to facilitate the dissemination of scientific research findings and support innovation in sport science, physical activity, health, and human performance. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: Physical Education, Sports Coaching, Physical Activity and Health, Sports Physiology, Sports Biomechanics, Sports Psychology, Motor Learning and Control, Fitness and Wellness, Sports Management, Traditional Sports, and other related areas in sport and exercise science.
3. General Manuscript Guidelines
The general requirements for manuscript submission are as follows:
- The manuscript must be an original work that has not been previously published or submitted to another journal.
- Manuscripts must be written in English.
- Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts using the official JIKor article template.
- The manuscript must be typed on A4 paper, single-spaced, using Book Antiqua font size 11.
- All manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts that indicate plagiarism will be rejected.
- The manuscript structure must consist of the following sections: Introduction; Method; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgements; References.
- The title must be concise, clear, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript (maximum 12 words, Book Antiqua, 14 pt, bold). Titles should avoid ambiguous wording and uncommon abbreviations.
- Author names must be written below the title without academic degrees. Each author must include an institutional affiliation. One author must be designated as the corresponding author.
- The abstract must be written in English and must not exceed 250 words. It should be written in a single paragraph and include a brief background, research objectives, methods, main findings, and the novelty of the study. Citations, abbreviations, formulas, and footnotes are not permitted in the abstract.
- Keywords consist of 3–5 words or phrases representing the main content of the article.
4. Guidelines for the Manuscript Body Text
Introduction: The introduction should present the research background, relevant literature review (state of the art), identification of research gaps, formulation of research questions or hypotheses, and research objectives. The novelty of the study must be clearly demonstrated.
Method: This section explains how the research was conducted, including research design, participants or samples, instruments, procedures, and data analysis techniques. The description should be clear and replicable.
Results and Discussion: The results section presents the findings clearly and systematically, supported by tables or figures where necessary. The discussion section interprets the results, compares them with previous studies, and explains their theoretical and practical implications.
Conclusion: The conclusion summarizes the main findings of the study and addresses the research objectives or hypotheses. Limitations and recommendations for future research may also be included. The conclusion should not merely repeat the results.
Acknowledgements: Authors may acknowledge individuals or institutions that provided assistance or funding for the research.
5. Guidelines for References and Citations
All sources cited in the manuscript must be listed in the reference section. At least 70–80% of references must be derived from primary sources (peer-reviewed journals). References should preferably be published within the last 5–10 years. A minimum of 15 references is required. Reference formatting must follow APA Style (7th Edition). Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

6. Figures and Tables
All figures (graphs, diagrams, photographs, and illustrations) must be of high quality and numbered consecutively. Figures must be inserted in the main body of the text close to their first citation. Tables must be typed and included in the manuscript body. Table titles should be placed above the tables, and any explanatory notes should appear as footnotes.
7. Online Submission Guidelines
Manuscripts must be submitted through the JIKor Online Submission System. The submission steps are as follows:
- Register as an Author on the journal website, log in, and select New Submission.
- Complete the five submission stages: (1) Details; (2) Upload File; (3) Contributors; (4) For the Editors (if applicable); (5) Review.
- In the Details section, enter the title, keywords, and abstract, then click Continue.
- In the Upload File section, upload the manuscript file in MS Word format.
- In the Contributors section, complete all author information and affiliations, including the journal title, abstract, keywords, and references.
- In the For the Editors section, authors may provide comments, messages, or additional information.
- In the Review section, if all entered information is correct, click Submit.
- Carefully review all entered information before finalizing the submission.
