PEER REVIEW PROCESS
JIKor: Jurnal Ilmu Keolahragaan implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, objectivity, and scientific integrity of all submitted manuscripts. After submission through the online journal system, the editor conducts an initial screening to evaluate the manuscript’s conformity with the journal’s aims and scope, author guidelines, and formatting requirements, as well as its overall academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are then subjected to plagiarism checking using plagiarism detection software and manual searches in both online and offline databases. Manuscripts with substantial plagiarism will be rejected, while those with minor similarity or redundancy will be returned to the authors for clarification or revision.
Manuscripts that meet the ethical and technical requirements are subsequently forwarded to one or two reviewers with relevant expertise through a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Reviewers assess the manuscripts based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance of references, and contribution to the field of sport science. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor makes the final decision to reject the manuscript, request major revisions, request minor revisions, or accept the manuscript. Authors are required to revise and resubmit the manuscript within the specified timeframe; manuscripts returned after more than three months will be treated as new submissions. Accepted manuscripts will then proceed to the editorial and publication stages.
